Chile Temple Location Announced

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has also released the location of the house of the Lord coming to Viña del Mar, Chile.

The Viña del Mar Chile Temple will be built on a 1.87-acre site located between 3rd North Street and 4th North Street near 4 ½ West in Viña del Mar, Valparaiso, Chile. Plans call for a temple of approximately 30,000 square feet.

This will be the fifth house of the Lord in the country. The first temple in Chile was dedicated in Santiago in 1983. The other three temples in operation, under construction or announced in Chile  are found in AntofagastaConcepción and Santiago West.

The Viña del Mar Chile Temple was announced at last month’s general conference by Church President Russell M. Nelson. Chile is home to more than 600,000 Latter-day Saints in over 570 congregations.
