Pioneer Day celebrates the entry of Brigham Young and the Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847. As part of the festivities, the Church (through FamilySearch) is running a campaign to remind us that we can all be pioneers.
At the official page for the campaign, readers can find stories of sacrifice and faith from modern-day pioneers around the world and add their own. There are also a number of graphics available to share on social media alongside the hashtag #IAmAPioneer. By using the hashtag, you can share your stories and have them appear on the site’s live stream from Instagram and Twitter.
The movement is captured in a quote from President Thomas S. Monson found in the introductory video above: “To all you noble pioneers who go before showing others the way to follow, I urge, carry on.”
