Russell M. Nelson, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will make a special visit to the members of the Church in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, on September 1 and 2, 2018, as part of his Global ministry tour. President Nelson will be accompanied by Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and his wife Ruth.

The meeting details for each country are as follows:

 Dominican Republic: Saturday, September 1

  • Missionary meeting with Santo Domingo East and West missions. The meeting will be broadcasted to other missions of the Caribbean area, starting at 10:00 a.m.
  • Special conference at the Los Alcarrizos stake center, with broadcasts to the entire Caribbean at 4:00 p.m., Dominican time (-0400 UTC). All are invited to join the broadcast from their stake or district centers.

Puerto Rico: Sunday, September 2

  • Special Conference in the Coliseum of Puerto Rico José M. Agrelot, for missionaries and members of the Church. All members and friends are invited to participate.

Since his ordination as President and Prophet of the Church on January 14, 2018, President Nelson has met with many members across the world. This upcoming visit to members in two countries of the Caribbean region is followed by the ones he made to the cities of Winnipeg, Montreal, and Hamilton in Canada in mid-August, and in three cities in Alberta in June; this in addition to his world tour in April.
