On New Year’s Day, President Russell M. Nelson shared a reflective and inspiring message, commemorating the 25th anniversary of The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles. This profound document, signed by the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in 2000, stands as a declaration of faith and testimony of Jesus Christ.
President Nelson, now 100 years old and one of four living Apostles who originally signed the document, reflected on how The Living Christ has shaped his life. He shared that studying its powerful message continually strengthens his resolve to emulate the Savior.
“Over the last quarter century this testimony has been read, studied, and even memorized by countless disciples of Jesus Christ,” he noted.
As he welcomed the opportunities that come with a new year, President Nelson extended a meaningful New Year invitation to all: to prioritize temple attendance in their resolutions. “I invite you to come to the temple as often as your circumstances allow,” he encouraged.

“In the house of the Lord, we focus on Jesus Christ,” he said. “We learn of Him and His gospel. We make covenants which bind us to Him and to our Heavenly Father. Through these temple experiences and others, we are strengthened to achieve our New Year’s resolutions.”
President Nelson concluded his message with a heartfelt blessing for the year ahead, expressing his hope that it would be “filled with the light, love, joy, and power of our Savior and Redeemer, who is the Living Christ.”
