Rare Footage Surfaces of Historic Baptisms in Nigeria

A video has recently surfaced on YouTube showing rare footage of one of the largest baptismal services held in Nigeria, shortly after the Church entered the country. The footage was shot by Rendell and Rachel Mabey, who can be seen in the video. The full text reads:

In the months following the first baptismal services in Ghana and Nigeria, the missionaries traveled to other regions in both countries, baptizing and organizing branches of the Church.

One of the largest baptismal services held y the Mabeys and Cannons in Nigeria took place on March 3 and March 4 [1978] near Ikot Eyo village. One hundred and seventeen people were baptized the first day, and 67 the next.

Thanks to Kate Allen for the find!
