Rededication Dates Announced for Two US Temples

The dates for open houses and rededications have been released for the Raleigh North Carolina and the Baton Rouge Louisiana Temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Both temples will have only one rededicatory session.

Raleigh North Carolina Temple

The public may tour the Raleigh North Carolina Temple from September 21 through September 28, 2019, except for Sunday, September 22. President M. Russell Ballard, acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, will preside at the rededicatory session on Sunday, October 13, 2019. The temple will open for patrons on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

Gordon B. Hinckley, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1995 to 2008, dedicated the temple in 1999. The temple serves Latter-day Saints in North Carolina.

Baton Rouge Louisiana Temple

The Baton Rouge Louisiana Temple will be open for free public tours from October 26, 2019 through November 2, 2019, except for Sunday, October 27. Elder Quentin L. Cook, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, will preside over the single rededicatory session on Sunday, November 17, 2019. The temple will re-open November 23, 2019, for temple work.

President Hinckley dedicated the Baton Rouge Louisiana Temple in 2000. The temple serves Latter-day Saints in Louisiana and Mississippi.

The rededications will not include a youth devotional and broadcast.
