In a letter sent to Church leaders, the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced a small change to the dedication dates for the Rome Italy Temple.
Originally, the temple was to be formally dedicated in multiple sessions on Sunday, March 10, 2019, through Sunday, March 17, 2019. The week-long dedication has now been shortened and will conclude on Tuesday, March 12, 2019.
The open house and youth devotional dates have not changed. The temple will open to the public for ordinances as scheduled, on March 19, 2019.
The public is invited to tour the Rome Italy Temple in a free public open house from Monday, January 28, 2019, to Saturday, February 16, 2019, excluding Sundays.
Construction began on the three-story, 40,000-square-foot building on October 23, 2010, when Church President Thomas S. Monson, along with Church and local community leaders, participated in the traditional groundbreaking ceremony.
