The Washington D.C. Temple was originally set to be rededicated on December 13, 2020, with a public open house running from September 24 to October 31, 2020. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the open house, youth devotional, and rededication are indefinitely postponed.
The temple closed in March 2018 for a significant renovation. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and lighting systems throughout the 160,000-square-foot structure have been refreshed, in addition to other work done to refurbish and renovate the temple.
You can watch the original announcement from February, which highlights renderings of the interior.
