In a new video series, Sister Reyna Aburto of the General Relief Society Presidency shares her life story as a testimony of hope even in the darkest of times.

In part one, we follow Reyna as she lives through the devastating earthquake that hit Nicaragua in 1972 and the loss of her brother.


In part two, Reyna describes the civil unrest she experienced in Nicaragua, her marriage, and leaving her husband after addictions took hold of his life.


The third and concluding video discusses Reyna’s conversion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and her new beginning.
