1835: Michael H. Chandler arrives in Kirtland to display four Egyptian mummies and some scrolls of papyrus containing hieroglyphics. These are later purchased, and by revelation Joseph translates the Book of Abraham from the preserved items.
1955: The South Australian Mission is organized.
1973: The Michigan Mission is organized.
1999: Ground is broken for the Oklahoma City Oklahoma Temple.
