1810: Truman O. Angell, later the architect of many public and private buildings in Salt Lake City, including the Salt Lake Temple, is born in North Providence, Rhode Island.
1861: Gustave Chaprix arrives in Brussels as the first missionary to Belgium.
1970: The Church sends six thousand pounds of supplies to earthquake victims in Peru.
1994: President Howard W. Hunter is ordained and set apart as the fourteenth President of the Church, with Gordon B. Hinckley and Thomas S. Monson as Counselors; Elder Boyd K. Packer of the Twelve is set apart as acting President of the Twelve.
