This Day in Church History

1793: John P. Greene, later a missionary and close friend of Joseph Smith, is born in Herkimer County, New York. A copy of the Book of Mormon left with the Greene family eventually converts Brigham Young and the entire Young family.
1985: The first branch is established in the Caribbean island country of Grenada.
1998: The First Presidency announces plans to build a temple in Raleigh, North Carolina.
