1854: President Brigham Young warns the British Mission presidency to stop sending immigrants through New Orleans, where many were becoming sick at port. After this time, immigrants enter the United States through ports in New York and Boston.
1985: The Church announces the release of a new Church hymnal, the first in 37 years.
