“Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.”
– 2 Thessalonians 3:16
“Faith in Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice is, and forever will be, the first principle of the gospel and the foundation upon which our hope for ‘peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come’ is built.” – Bishop W. Christopher Waddell
This Day in LDS History
1946: Five hundred former members who had been part of a group that had left the Church over a dispute regarding native leadership spread flowers along the lane leading to the chapel in Tecako, Mexico, stand on each side, singing “We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet” as President George Albert Smith arrives to address them. He invites them back into the Church and some twelve hundred eventually return.
1999: Ground is broken for three new temples: The Louisville Kentucky, Adelaide Australia, and Veracruz Mexico Temples.
