Scripture

“And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.” Mosiah 2:17

Quote

“My brothers and sisters, we are surrounded by those in need of our attention, our encouragement, our support, our comfort, our kindness—be they family members, friends, acquaintances, or strangers. We are the Lord’s hands here upon the earth, with the mandate to serve and to lift His children. He is dependent upon each of us” Thomas S. Monson

This Day in LDS History

1883: Paul Haslinger, the first convert in Austria, is baptized.
1925: Russell C. Taylor, later a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy, is born in Red Mesa, Colorado
1967: Elder Spencer W. Kimball visits northern Brazil on a fact-finding assignment to determine whether to expand or cut back missionary activity in the area. Within a year, a new mission is created, and later, as a result of President Kimball’s Revelation on priesthood, northern Brazil becomes one of the most successful missionary fields in the church.
