1846: In an incident later known as the Battle of Nauvoo, anti-Mormon forces converge on Nauvoo and open fire on the city, intending to drive out the remaining Mormons.
1896: The Montana Mission is organized.
1924: Boyd K. Packer, later President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, is born in Brigham City, Utah.
1990: Missionaries arrive in the Balkan nation of Bulgaria for the first time.
