Here’s your daily dose of what matters most!
Doing the right thing at the right time matters because obedience paired with timely action allows good purposes to be carried through to completion. When we respond without delay to what we know is right, we become instruments of help to others and often discover that fulfillment comes through faithful follow-through rather than waiting for a better moment.
Scripture
“And his servant went straightway, and did all things whatsoever his lord commanded him; and after many days all things were fulfilled.”—Doctrine and Covenants 101:62
Quote
“Each day we have the opportunity to give help and service—doing the right thing at the right time, without delay. … [The Savior] gave us a great example about not waiting to administer relief to those who have lost a sense of happiness and joy.”—José L. Alonso, “Doing the Right Thing at the Right Time, without Delay”

Living the Principle: Do the Right Thing at the Right Time
- Act on clear responsibilities as soon as they are understood, rather than waiting for ideal conditions or perfect confidence. Following through promptly builds trust and allows good outcomes to unfold fully instead of stalling in intention.
- Pay attention to situations where someone’s discouragement or loss of joy is visible, and choose to respond with practical help rather than sympathy alone. Timely service often matters more than polished words and can restore hope in ways that delayed action cannot.
- Treat obedience as an active commitment, not a passive belief, by completing what has been asked without partial effort or hesitation. Consistent follow-through turns righteous intent into lasting impact and brings fulfillment through faithful completion.
