Prayer requires spiritual labor, and it does not always lead to the outcome we hope for. But when we feel discouraged or weighed down with sorrow, the Lord gives us comfort and strength in different ways. He may not answer all of our questions or solve all of our problems right away; rather, He encourages us to keep trying. If we then speedily align our plan with His plan, He will open the way for us.—Milton Camargo

1832: Joseph Murdock, one of the twins taken in by Joseph and Emma Smith, dies as a result of exposure to the cold during the 24 March mob attack on Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon.
1836: A number of Church leaders and elders assemble in the Kirtland Temple, where they participate in the sacred ordinance of the washing of the feet and afterward remain all night, prophesying and praising God.
1970: The first Indonesian converts are baptized.
