1956: President David O. McKay dedicates the Los Angeles Temple, which was one of only four temples erected during the 1950s.
1992: President Gordon B. Hinckley of the First Presidency presents the Vatican Library in Vatican City, Italy, with a copy of the five-volume Encyclopedia of Mormonism.
