This Day in LDS History

1982: Making medical history, Dr. William DeVries implants the first artificial heart into a human, Barney Clark. Both doctor and patient are LDS.
1983: President Gordon B. Hinckley of the First Presidency dedicates the Mexico City Temple (later the Mexico City D. F. Mexico Temple)
1989: Church membership reaches seven million.
