Here’s your daily dose of what matters most!

Seeking the best gifts means humbly recognizing our shortcomings and asking God for the spiritual strengths that can help us overcome them. As we earnestly pray for the gifts that will refine and complete us, we align our will with His and invite His transforming power into our lives.

Scripture

“Seek ye earnestly the best gifts, always remembering for what they are given.”Doctrine and Covenants 46:8

Quote

“If any of us are imperfect, it is our duty to pray for the gift that will make us perfect. Have I imperfections? I am full of them. What is my duty? To pray to God to give me the gifts that will correct these imperfections.”—George Q. Cannon

Living the Principle: How Do We Seek the Best Gifts?

  • Identify a specific weakness you’re struggling with and ask God for a gift that can help you overcome it, such as patience or discernment.
  • Look for ways to develop and use the gifts you already have to bless the lives of others.
  • Set aside time each week to study scriptures or talks that focus on spiritual gifts, praying to recognize which gifts God is inviting you to seek.
