1822: Bathsheba Wilson (Smith), later the fourth general president of the Relief Society, is born near Shinnston, West Virginia.
1966: The Church is given permission to proselyte in Bermuda.
1984: Dallin H. Oaks is ordained as an Apostle, replacing the deceased Mark E. Petersen.
