This Day in Church History
1835: Orson Pratt is ordained a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
1838: Joseph Smith receives D&C 115, indicating that the Church is to be known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The revelation also instructs the Saints concerning the building of the temple at Far West, Missouri.
1964: Elder Gordon B. Hinckley dedicates a meetinghouse for the Tokyo North Branch; it is the first LDS meetinghouse in Asia.
