This Day in Church History
1810: Dan Jones, later a friend of Joseph Smith and successful missionary in Wales, where he baptized some 2,000 converts, is born in Halkyn, Wales.
1899: Ezra Taft Benson, later a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and thirteenth President of the Church, is born in Whitney, Idaho.
1991: The renovated Smith Family Cemetery in Nauvoo, Illinois, is dedicated. The cemetery holds the graves of Joseph, Emma, and Hyrum Smith, as well as others. The dedication is performed under the joint direction of Elder M. Russell Ballard and President Wallace Smith, president of the RLDS Church
