1833: Joseph Smith completes his translation of the New Testament.
1848: With the signing of the Guadalupe Hidalgo, the Mexican War officially ends and the region now divided among Utah, California, Arizona, and New Mexico become part of the United States. Mexico had previously claimed this region.
1986: Brazil becomes the third country outside of the United States to have 50 stakes.
