Here’s your daily dose of what matters most!
How can we strengthen our families? Strength comes as we choose love over comparison and learn to give freely of our time, patience, and care. As the Spirit is welcomed into our homes through simple, consistent faithfulness, it helps keep our families moving forward together on a steady path.
Scripture
“See that ye love one another; cease to be covetous; learn to impart one to another as the gospel requires.”—Doctrine and Covenants 88:123
Quote
“The key to strengthening our families is having the Spirit of the Lord come into our homes. The goal of our families is to be on the strait and narrow path.”—Robert D. Hales, “Strengthening Families: Our Sacred Duty”

Living the Principle: How We Can Strengthen Our Families
- Create family patterns that emphasize generosity rather than comparison by openly sharing responsibilities, listening without defensiveness, and responding to needs before being asked. This kind of imparting builds trust and teaches that love in a family is something actively given, not measured or earned.
- Intentionally shape your home environment to invite the Spirit by removing influences that create contention and replacing them with habits that encourage peace, gratitude, and reverence. Small choices about what is welcomed into your home can steadily align family life with spiritual priorities.
- Regularly pause to ask whether family decisions, conversations, and routines are helping everyone stay oriented toward gospel-centered goals. When course corrections are made with humility and unity, families are strengthened not by perfection but by their shared commitment to walk the same path together.
