1845: The Welsh Mission is organized.
1896: The Colorado Mission is organized.
1979: In preparation for the 1980 Winter Olympics, a temporary LDS visitors’ center is opened at Lake Placid, New York.
1992: The First Presidency announces an effort sponsored by the Relief Society to raise literacy rates in the Church worldwide.
