1900: The First Presidency announces the beginning of missionary training classes, one of the foundation stones of future missionary training programs.
1978: The First Presidency issues a letter announcing that “all worthy male members of the Church may be ordained to the priesthood without regard for race or color.”
1991: The Mormon Tabernacle Choir begins a twenty-one-day tour of eight European countries, including five countries in which the choir had never performed: Hungary, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, and the Soviet Union.
