1853: The Church holds its first conference in India two years after missionary work was begun there by Elder Joseph Richards.
1943: President J. Reuben Clark introduces a new financial reorganization plan for the Church, emphasizing the point that every financial operation must help the purpose and mission of the Church.
1972: The Church releases the translation of the Book of Mormon into Afrikaans.
