1853 The Church holds its first conference in India two years after missionary work was begun there by Elder Joseph Richards.
1943 President J. Reuben Clark introduces a new financial reorganization plan for the Church, emphasizing the point that every financial operation must help the purpose and mission of the Church.
1972 The Church releases the translation of the Book of Mormon into Afrikaans.
