1876 A central committee of the Young Men’s Mutual Improvement Association (predecessor to the Young Men organization) is created, with Junius F. Wells as president.
1911 James E. Talmage is ordained an Apostle, replacing Charles W. Penrose, who had been called to the First Presidency.
1999 Commemorating the sesquicentennial of the organization of the Sunday School, President Gordon B. Hinckley presides over the sealing of a time capsule to be opened in 2049.
