1831: in Fayette, New York, Joseph Smith receives Doctrine and Covenants 40, a revelation regarding the ‘fear of persecution and the cares of the world’ that cause some to reject the truth.
1834: the general public learns for the first time that Joseph Smith has bodyguards protecting him.
1985: The first branch of the Church in the West Indies Island of Antigua is organized, with Rex B. Blake as president.
