1832: Joseph B. Brackenbury, a missionary, is poisoned by anti- Mormons, becoming the first martyr of the dispensation.
1876: Daniel W. Jones leads a small group of missionaries from El Paso, Texas, across the Rio Grande into Ciudad Juarez, Mexico; they become the first missionaries to serve in Mexico.
1880: in Copenhagen, Denmark, Andrew Jenson publishes Ungdommens Raadgiver, the first LDS periodical for young people in Scandinavia.
