1864 While trying to land at Lahaina, Maui in the Hawaiian Islands, Elder Lorenzo Snow drowns when a boat he and Elder Ezra T. Benson are in capsizes. After an hour of prayer and artificial resucitation, Elder Snow revives.
1982 The First Presidency announces plans to build a temple in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
1990 David M. Kennedy is released as the First Presidency’s international reprensentative.
