Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me.—3 Nephi 9:14
The invitation to repent is rarely a voice of chastisement but rather a loving appeal to turn around and to ‘re-turn’ toward God.—Neil L. Andersen
This Day in Church History
1856: Under the direction of Brigham Young, President Jedediah M. Grant of the First Presidency institutes the “Mormon Reformation” at a conference in Kaysville. The purpose of the reformation was to remind the Saints of their blessings and to call them to repentance for being lax in keeping the commandments.
1898: Lorenzo Snow is ordained as the fifth President of the Church, with George Q. Cannon and Joseph F. Smith as counselors.
1937: Don Bluth, later a Disney animator for such classics as Sleeping Beauty (1955) and Pete’s Dragon (1977) and director of An American Tail (1987) and Land Before Time (1987) is born in El Paso, Texas.
What is one way we can trust in taking the arm of Christ?
