This Day in Church History
1801: Brigham Young, later a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and second President of the Church, is born in Whitingham, Vermont.
1915: After being inspired by the Spirit, President John F. Smith dedicates the site for the Laie Hawaii Temple. Upon his return to the mainland, he advises other Church leaders of his action and asks for their support.
1919: General conference is held after being postponed for two months because of the influenza pandemic that swept the world in 1918 and 1919.
1997: President Gordon B. Hinckley dedicates the St. Louis Missouri Temple.
