1906: A devastating earthquake strikes San Francisco, and in the ensuing fire the mission home is destroyed. This results in the California Mission headquarters being moved to LA in southern California.
1947: Minerva K. Teichart, the first woman to receive a commission to create a temple mural, commences to paint “The Pageant of History” for the world room of the Manti Temple.
1965: The Memphis Stake, the first stake in Tennessee, is organized, with Richard Stoddard as president.
