Here’s your daily dose of what matters most!
When we examine where our time, attention, and money go, we may discover that comfort, success, possessions, or entertainment compete with our devotion to God. What could we reduce or change this week to give Him a more central place in our choices?
Scripture
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:”—Exodus 20:4
Quote
“The question posed by the second commandment is “What is our ultimate priority?” Are we serving priorities or gods ahead of the God we profess to worship? Have we forgotten to follow the Savior who taught that if we love Him, we will keep His commandments? If so, our priorities have been turned upside down by the spiritual apathy and undisciplined appetites so common in our day.”—Dallin H. Oaks, “No Other Gods”

Living the Principle: Realign Your Priorities
- Review how you spent your free time and money during the past week. Identify one pattern that received more attention than it deserved.
- Choose one appetite or distraction to limit for the next seven days. Use the time or money you save for learning, worship, service, or strengthening a relationship.
- Before making a nonessential purchase or commitment, pause and consider what motivates it. Ask whether that choice supports the life and priorities God wants you to build.
