1956: Lloyd D. Newell, later the voice for Music and the Spoken Word, is born in Provo, Utah.
1992: U.S. President George Bush meets with the First Presidency and members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and in the evening makes a surprise appearance at the Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s concert on Temple Square.
