In our search to obtain relief from the stresses of life, may we earnestly seek ways to simplify our lives. May we comply with the inspired counsel and direction the Lord has given us in the great plan of happiness. May we be worthy to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost and follow the guidance of the Spirit as we navigate this mortal journey. 1841: Elder Orson Hyde ascends the Mount of Olives and dedicates the land of Palestine.
1988: President Thomas S. Monson meets with officials of the German Democratic Republic (DDR) and asks for permission for the Church to call missionaries to and from the country. Government officials later grant his requests.
1999: President Gordon B. Hinckley breaks ground for the reconstruction of the Nauvoo Temple.
