1907: Utah landscape and portrait photographer George Edward Anderson takes his famous and moving photograph of the Sacred Grove in New York. Anderson is the first professional Latter-day Saint photographer to capture images of LDS historical sites in Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and Vermont.
1961: The Alaska Stake, the first stake in Alaska, is organized, with Orson P. Millett as president.
1991: Tonga observes the centennial of the founding of the Church on that Pacific Island.
1998: The First Presidency announces plans to build a temple in Spokane, Washington.
