Here’s your daily dose of what matters most! We know that we are all subject to physical and spiritual death through the fall of Adam and Eve. What is spiritual death and how does Jesus Christ save us from it?

Scripture

Therefore, as the soul could never die, and the fall had brought upon all mankind a spiritual death as well as a temporal, that is, they were cut off from the presence of the Lord, it was expedient that mankind should be reclaimed from this spiritual death.—Alma 42:9

Quote

Our first parents, Adam and Eve, disobeyed God. By eating the forbidden fruit, they became mortal. Consequently, they and all of their descendants became subject to both mortal and spiritual death (mortal death, the separation of body and spirit; and spiritual death, the separation of the spirit from the presence of God and death as pertaining to the things of the spirit).—Spencer W. Kimball
