Before a Child Encounters Racism & Violence: Alex Boye’s New Music Video

Alex Boye’s new music video is an updated cover on the song “7 Seconds,” which describes the first moments of a child’s life before they encounter racism, violence, and various worldly ills. The song is sung in three different languages, English, French, and Wolof, a west African dialect.

Boye is joined by Marabeth Poole on vocals and Kotahi Tarawhiti as a dancer. You can watch the entire music video below. If Poole looks familiar, it is because she is the sister of stars Derek and Julianne Hough.
