Welcome to Guideposts! Guideposts is a roundup of inspiring social media posts from Church leaders and organizations. This series highlights key messages, quotes, and teachings shared across various platforms, offering you valuable insights and encouragement to strengthen your faith and live the gospel in meaningful ways.

To mark President Dallin H. Oaks’s birthday this week, we’re gathering highlights that trace his clear witness of Jesus Christ and His restored gospel over the last year. Themes include creation and gratitude, love and law, peacemaking, the plan of salvation, and Joseph Smith’s prophetic calling.

He teaches that love and law belong together, and that families facing hard choices should keep loving while keeping the Lord’s commandments. In a difficult moment for public discourse, he invites disciples to reject contention and speak as peacemakers.

He testifies of the living Christ—literal, risen, and central to all history—and of the universal resurrection and the power of His Atonement. God’s plan offers divine helps now and opens into kingdoms of glory, inviting us toward exaltation.

He affirms the scriptural need for a church directed by the Savior and witnesses that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that restored Church, authorized to administer saving ordinances. He also honors Joseph Smith’s heaven-enabled work that launched the Restoration in a few short years.

President Oaks’ messages remind us that the gospel is clear, hopeful, and meant to be lived—gratefully, peacefully, and with kept covenants.
