Though Lindsey Stirling’s recent performance on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars is full of fun and energy, her pre-performance footage reveals a much deeper meaning.
Stirling admitted to recently ending her year-and-a-half-long relationship and feeling heartbroken.
“With all of this going on, I’m so thankful for this show. At a time when my heart is a little broken, I’m very grateful to have something I can really love,” Stirling said. “I want to have a family and I thought I was almost ready to go to that next phase. As much as this dance is about my guilty pleasure of being in my PJs, it’s also about what I want. I want to someday have a home with a family where we can dance around in our PJs together. To me, that’s what this dance is about.”
Stirling performed a jive with dance partner Mark Ballas to the hit song by Wam!, “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.” They received the highest score of the season so far, with a 27/30. Watch the entire performance below.
