The day after his brother-in-law was life-flighted due to Covid, Latter-day Saint singer/songwriter Jack Betty couldn’t stop thinking about needing a major ‘distraction’ to help him forget about the madness around him. “I really don’t know of anyone who had a stellar 2020”, said Jack Betty. “We’ve all dealt with some very difficult hardships and losses. This song is highly relatable to everyone because we can all use a ‘distraction’ during these crazy times.”
In the words of one music reviewer, “My Distraction is one of those songs which seems timeless. …. It is very much the sound of the here-and-now. It is more than pop. It is anthemic, epic even. …. The (music video) explores people’s inter-linked relationships and the importance of being there for each other when it really matters, talking to the listener eye-to-eye through the shared experience of the human condition.”
“My Distraction” is a must-add to your favorite playlist. Be sure to follow Jack Betty on Instagram (@JackBettyMusic) to hear more about his Spring 2021 album release.
