A new video from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints documents the intense, yet awe-inspiring rescue efforts that took place after Hurricane Harvey in 2017. Volunteers and those served sit down to share their experiences and how the principle of emergency preparedness blessed their lives.
Hurricane Harvey was a category 4 major hurricane that formed in late August 2017 and ravaged communities in the state of Texas. The hurricane inflicted $125 billion in damage, resulted in the deaths of at least 107 people, and displaced thousands. The Houston Texas Temple, a sacred site for Latter-day Saints, suffered significant damage, including the complete flooding of the baptistry room in the basement and flooding throughout the rest of the temple.
