The new trailer for this summer’s major motion picture release The Other Side of Heaven 2: Fire of Faith debuted this past weekend at FanX in Salt Lake City and was released today to the public on YouTube. The Other Side of Heaven 2: Fire of Faith opens in theatres on Friday, June 28, 2019.
The Other Side of Heaven 2: Fire of Faith is written and directed by Mitch Davis and stars Christopher Gorham returning to the role of Elder John Groberg – 20 years after the original film was released. “We had an incredible reunion at FanX between Christopher Gorham, the real Elder Groberg, and me,” said Davis. “And the response from the crowd was absolutely amazing! It was incredible to see how big the fandom is for The Other Side of Heaven and how excited they are for the release of the sequel.”
The Other Side of Heaven 2: Fire of Faith tells the true story of Elder John Groberg’s return to Tonga for his second mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this time accompanied by his wife and family. When their son is born critically ill, the Grobergs face the ultimate test of their faith, and find themselves surrounded by the love and prayers of thousands of Tongans of all denominations. Barriers of religious strife are broken down as an entire nation unites in hopes of a miracle that will save the baby’s life, as well as that of a Tongan minister’s son who is in a coma in an adjacent hospital room.
The film has been rated PG-13 for “thematic elements.” In addition, the filmmakers announced today the original The Other Side of Heaven is now available to stream for free on the KSL-TV app.
