In celebration of Easter and in hopes of inviting a special spirit as the world continues to be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Rob Garder will be hosting an online-only, worldwide sing-along of “Lamb of God” through YouTube Live and Facebook Live.
Gardner is a Latter-day Saint composer and is perhaps best known for his arrangement of “Savior, Redeemer, of My Soul.” “Lamb of God” is his full-length musical portrayal of the final days of the life of Jesus Christ, told through the relatable perspectives of those who loved and walked with Him.
Spire Music shared, “Perhaps you’ll decide to sing every word yourself, or maybe you’ll assign members of the household each part and perform for one another. Or maybe you’ll just sit and listen, watch and read along. However you decide to join in, you can know that there are others around the world singing along with you, lifting their voices and their hearts with yours and sharing in the hope and beauty of the Easter message. We hope that this worldwide virtual event will help you feel connected, loved and lifted up. Sometimes music is the only way to get there.”
For those who read music, they’ve also made a vocal-parts-only score available to download (and print), if you wish to follow along with the music, both the solo lines and choir parts. Download the PDF score for free by clicking here. Additionally, a full piano/vocal score is also available at www.spiremusic.org, if you wish to own a full score of the work.
