In this Come, Follow Me FHE lesson, you will learn more about what it means to be be a witness of the Book of Mormon and why this book is so important in the first place. Our FHE lessons include three lesson plans for different ages, treat recipes, activity ideas, and more.

FOR CHILDREN

Activity: Begin the lesson by holding up a Book of Mormon. Tell the children you are going to pretend to be a person who has never heard of the Book of Mormon before. Ask them to share what they know about the Book of Mormon. Ask them questions about it. Questions may include what it is about, where does it come from, and who wrote it.

Read: The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It was written by prophets to help us learn about Jesus and His teachings. We need the Book of Mormon to help us live the way God wants us to live. Heavenly Father wants everyone to know about the Book of Mormon.

Ask: Was it easy to talk about the Book of Mormon? Were there questions that were hard to answer?

Read: We can share the Book of Mormon with others. We do this by talking about what we know about the Book of Mormon and why it is important to us. When Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, there were people who saw the process. There were even people who saw angels and the gold plates. These people were called witnesses. God wants us to be witnesses of the Book of Mormon today.

Share: Tell about a time when you shared the Book of Mormon with someone else.

Ask: Why do you like the Book of Mormon?

Testimony: Close with your testimony of the Book of Mormon.

FOR TEENS & ADULTS

Video: Watch this video as a quick introduction to the Book of Mormon.

Ask: Why do we need the Book of Mormon?

Share: Tell of a time when you were blessed by something you read in the Book of Mormon.

Ask: What is your favorite scripture story from the Book of Mormon?

Read: The Book of Mormon is filled with stories from the lives of many great people. It is easy to remember the stories of Nephi, Alma, Helaman, Mormon, Moroni, and more, but do we remember all of the lessons that are taught through these stories?

Scripture: Take turns reading 2 Nephi 25:26; Mosiah 3:5–8; Alma 5:48; 7:10–13; Helaman 5:12; 3 Nephi 9:13–18; 11:6–14; Moroni 10:32–33.

Ask: What do all of these verses teach us about?

Read: The Book of Mormon truly is another testament of Christ and as we read it we will come closer to Him.

Testimony: Close with your testimony of the Book of Mormon.
